Aggregate Impact Value (AIV) Test Machine

The Aggregate Impact Value (AIV) apparatus is used to assess the resistance of aggregates to sudden shock or impact, providing a relative measure of toughness essential for evaluating materials used in road construction and other civil engineering applications. The test involves compacting a specified mass of aggregate into a steel cup and subjecting it to a series of controlled impacts from a standard hammer. The degree of fragmentation is then assessed by sieving and calculating the percentage of fines produced. This apparatus is suitable for aggregates passing a 14.0 mm test sieve and retained on a 10.0 mm test sieve, ensuring consistency with standard testing procedures. Constructed from heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant steel, the apparatus ensures durability and reliability under repeated testing conditions. Equipped with a blow counter and hammer release mechanism, the apparatus facilitates precise control and repeatability of the impact application, enhancing the accuracy of test results. Sieve should be ordered separately.
