Bearing Plate Test Apparatus

The Bearing Plate Test Apparatus is designed to determine the bearing capacity and deformation characteristics of soils by applying a progressively increasing load to a rigid circular bearing plate and measuring the corresponding vertical settlement. The test is widely used for evaluating the load-bearing performance of natural soils, compacted fills, and pavement subgrades.

Test results are used to determine key geotechnical parameters, including the Deformation Modulus (Ev) and the Modulus of Subgrade Reaction (k-value), which are essential for the design of foundations, pavements, and other civil engineering structures.

The apparatus is available in a range of configurations to comply with the requirements of the applicable BS, ASTM, CNR, and other international standards. Various models are offered with different hydraulic cylinder capacities, bearing plate diameters, measuring bridge configurations, and displacement measuring systems, including analogue, digital, and electronic readout options.
