Concrete Pipe Testing Machines are specialized equipment used to assess the strength and durability of concrete pipes, which serve as key components in infrastructure systems such as sewage, drainage, and water supply networks. These machines apply controlled loads and pressures to the pipes to replicate real-world conditions and evaluate their performance under stress. By measuring factors such as a pipe’s ability to withstand internal pressure without leaking and its resistance to external crushing forces, these machines help verify that concrete pipes comply with industry standards for safety, quality, and long-term reliability. The test results are essential for engineers and manufacturers when making informed decisions about the design, production, and selection of concrete pipes for construction projects.
Concrete pipe testing machines consist of a high-strength load frame integrated with a servo-hydraulic power unit. The load frame is constructed with two extra-rigid vertical columns and a reinforced base chassis to ensure optimal structural stability during high-capacity testing. A double-acting hydraulic actuator is mounted on the upper crossbeam, featuring an anti-rotation mechanism that eliminates torsional movement inherent to actuator operation. A precision load cell is incorporated for accurate load measurement and fully closed-loop control.
The upper crossbeam can be pre-positioned via a lifting mechanism, allowing the main actuator to operate within an extended and efficient stroke range. Once aligned, the upper beam is mechanically secured to the columns using high-strength locking pins.
For testing in accordance with EN 1916 and ASTM standards, the system is equipped with an advanced servo-hydraulic power pack controlled by a German-engineered Doli touchscreen controller, providing precise load, displacement, and rate control.
V-shaped lower support bases are supplied separately and selected according to the pipe diameter and test configuration. Systems are available in multiple frame sizes and load capacities up to 1500 kN.
